Bookkeeper / Financial Manager
Finances are pretty important. It's often the "fuel" that makes things "go". Because we are a donor driven organization, we're focused on ensuring our finances meet all relevant legal requirements and that the way we manage our assets will inspire confidence with our donors. We have high standards and strong values that guide us. In order to meet our goals, we are looking for a Financial Manager / Bookkeeper who can lead the way in designing, monitoring and managing our organizations financial controls and processes. Requirements: Be willing and available to relocate to Costa Rica to serve the ministry in this mission capacity. Work as part of a growing ministry team. Be flexible to assist with any number of mission activities, in addition to accounting responsibilities. Skillset: - Accountant / bookkeeper, or equivalent and extensive real-world experience - Competent in using computer-based accounting software. - Experience in missions, NGO, volunteer, church planting or discipleship work. - Fluent or semi-fluent in Spanish, both written and oral. Student Missionary
The world is a large place. Your life is ahead of you. And you've decided that you want to take some time to serve overseas. God's love has moved you. You're inspired to help and serve people around you. You're up for an adventure, but also diligent in doing the mundane things of everyday life. We have service opportunities as short as 3 months extending up to one year. We're small and growing, so if you have a positive, can-do attitude and are able to adapt, then we'd like to hear from you. Useful skills/interests: - Discipleship - Anything medical - Videography/photography - Teaching - Mechanics - Construction - Agriculture - Music - Cooking - Marketing - Writing - Spanish The above is just an example of skills that would benefit the work of Alas de Vida. Other Positions
Ok, this is a bit of a shortcut. Presently there are a number of areas we could use dedicated people. To save space, we'll just summarize things. If you are a professional who is committed to sharing the everlasting gospel using your skillset, and you are looking to serve in Central America, keep reading. As a new and growing ministry, first and foremost we are committed to follow and live out the words of Jesus. Second, we are focused on fostering strong and healthy team dynamics. Some of our core values include: - Honesty - Grace - Creativity - Clear & open communication - Accountability - Strong work ethic - Respect The people that make up our team make us who we are. And in growing our team, we want to ensure that it's the best possible fit both for you and for us. All that to say, we're more interested in the right person than the right skill. Service roles can be adapted for the right person. Generally, though, these are areas where some specialized/professional skills can be used: - Car/aviation mechanics - Construction/maintenance - Medical - Natural lifestyle education - Agriculture - Discipleship, church planting - Accounting - NGO administration - Fundraising - Grant writing - Media production - Video editing - Teaching Any Spanish language ability would be an asset, although not a prerequisite for the right person. Short-term Volunteer Groups
Short-term volunteer service is incredibly fulfilling. It also provides real world benefits to the people we are serving. So, if you are a leader of a group looking for a place to plug in and serve on a short term 7–14-day project in Central America, we'd like to hear from you. Send us an email and tell us a little about yourself and your group. Things like potential dates, budget, size of group and area of interest are helpful to know. Don't worry if you don't have all the details. If you want to bring a group to serve, we'd like to hear from you! There might just be a place for you to lend a helping hand. Possible areas of service include construction, children & youth community programming, gospel outreach, health and more.
